Places I have Visited...
Recently, I had the chance to visit Niagara Falls in New York. It is the first time I
have seen the falls from the American side. We decided to do a walking tour called "The Cave of the Winds". When
you buy your ticket, they give you a gorgeous yellow poncho, a bag for your shoes, and sandals to wear. Once you have
your new attire on, you travel several floors down an elevator so that you are about even with the bottom of the American
Falls. There is actually no cave that you walk through during the tour, instead you walk on decking that has been built
in front of the falls. You continue upward until you reach the "Hurricane Deck". On the Hurricane Deck, you are
so close to the falls that water and wind are hitting you from all sides!
Back in the day, you actually could travel into the Cave of the Winds, which
was located behind a small section of the falls, called the Bridal Veil Falls.

View of Stonehenge from the west side of the stone circle. |
Stonehenge is an ancient stone circle found near Salisbury,
England. It is believed that the circle was built between 3000 B.C. and 1500 B.C. Not much is known about Stonehenge,
but it is now believed that it was a place where people celebrated the lives of their ancestors.
Archeologists think that the people believed the spirits of their loved ones resided in the stones.
Mr. Kozar and I visited Stonehenge in June while on
our honeymoon in the United Kingdom. We will talk about Stonehenge this year during our Astronomy Unit.
